Next up in the expanded blogs on social media is Twitter, where you can follow me @campbellcreativ. They say a picture’s worth 1,000 words – one of my favorite photos from Riviera Maya, Mexico –

but Twitter forces you to make it only be worth 140 characters. It’s well worth it, though, and it’s one of my favorite social media sites. The great part about Twitter is how instant and conversational it is. Twitter is a great way to connect with professionals from the various industries I dabble in – from general photography, to wedding industry professionals, to news organizations, to Chicagoans.
On Twitter, I’m able to send out photos through Twitpic either as I take them, or as I’m looking through pictures I’ve shot previously, and want to share them again. Sometimes, I add a funny or real caption, and sometimes it’s just such a great landscape, I want you to see where I am. Chicago is a great city – if you don’t live here, you should at least get to see it. I can also tweet about jobs that I’m on – letting my followers know where I’m headed, what I’m up to, and more. One of the other great things about Twitter is being able to just have a conversation with others. I’ve talked about photography, website redesign, the wedding industry, and sometimes just joking with the guys. (@thegroomsays and I had a back-and-forth about our relationships with Hugh Hefner after his recent breakup. Luckily, we’ve followed each other long enough to get each others’ sense of humor, even though we’ve never met and live on different sides of the country).
I follow some really great people, who tweet interesting, newsworthy, worthwhile, and funny articles, blogs, pictures, podcasts, and information. I retweet a lot, because it’s better coming from these great sources. I try and keep my followers interested in the various industries I work in, the world of photography and digital photography, and what’s going on at Mark Campbell Creative. Tweet me @campbellcreativ and check out my great followers and 140 character musings.
